An Abstract Take on The Autumn Mood

Why do I like Alan Wake 2, and to be more specific the franchise so much?

When you peel the layers of this survival horror game deep down you reach the core, a desperate writer in his creative block. Struggling with his thoughts, his personal life, and a crippling imposter syndrome that gets worse the more he seeks perfection in his manuscript.

The game tackles the idea that what feels pointless, like a loop of trying and reaching nowhere but where you started is not a loop, but a spiral of ascension or destruction with each round taking you a step closer to one or the other. You’ve got to be careful which path you’re taking.

But what does this have to do with this painting?

It’s inspiring, it helped me realize each flawed and pointless creation no matter how far away from perfection is still better than making none while questioning if I still have it in me.

This painting right here is just some random shapes that didn’t take more than half an hour from start to finish. And there’s not much to it but it does carry a sentimental value for me.
